Body, Dance and Systems Thinking

ARTICULATIONS
being oneself, together

Taking a somatic approach we are expanding our view of well-being to a web of relationships. In it’s physical aspect the body is an assemblage of coordinated systems each having their own functions and rhythms, a holistic perspective includes the aspects of mind, heart and spirit. Shifting our relationship to movement from exercising to somatic awareness brings a quality of attention to everyday gestures filled with curiosity for the ordinary. Everybody interested in their health and well-being can benefit from these fresh perspectives through embodied creativity.
Even though these experiential workshops are group experiences, they are person centered and the environment non competitive. Our common intention is to reconnect with the body’s wisdom from the inside out by engaging through cycles of rest, movement, image making and self-reflection. Building the foundations of relaxation, centering and restorative practices, participants have the opportunity to learn life enhancing skills that can easily be practiced at home.
The LIFE|ART is a beautiful personal inquiry that takes us down the dance path. Let’s stretch this idea here. Legs and feet, arms and shoulders, rib cages and spines may dance the dance of what we stand or reach for, how we go about it and how we really feel about it. The process is spacious and everyone is invited to explore in respect of their own bodies and in response to their needs. Dance, as somatic awareness, becomes a metaphor for exploring interconnection, how we approach and retreat, rise and fall, set boundaries, loose our center and regain our balance. Embracing LIFE|ART as the theater to embody tenderness, fierceness and playfulness, we learn and grow with each other. We cannot do it alone. In our own way we are all artists of our life. Experiencing together, what can we learn about our health, well-being and being a human by attuning to our interconnected worlds ?
